sMart Shop App FAQ
The sMart Shop App provides a contactless way to unlock shopping trolleys. Simply download the app, create an account, purchase a sMart Coin™ and your set! When you return and lock the trolley your sMart Coin will be returned to your account.
The app has several useful tools. These include;
- Unlock a shopping trolley fitted with a sMart Lock™ device
- Purchase a sMart Coin for your account to be used as a deposit
- Setting up bag reminders
- Creating a shopping list
- Check off items on the shopping list
Sign into the app, make sure you have a valid sMart Coin on your account. Select the “Unlock trolley” button. Tap Scan QR code and scan the QR code of the nearest locked trolley.
You will see the “Unlock trolley” button on the main menu. If you do not have a valid sMart Coin™, you will see the “Purchase a sMart Coin™.” button.
Simply tap “Purchase a sMart Coin”button on the app. If the button is not visible, that means you have a valid sMart Coin on your account.
The sMart Shop App is designed for smart phones, although is compatible with most modern tablets and iPads. You can download the app on the App or Google Play store.
Yes, the sMart Shop App is free to download, however you are responsible for any sMart Coin purchases and data charges you may incur from your mobile service provider.
When you unlock a trolley with the sMart Shop App, your sMart Coin is taken as a deposit. When you return and lock your trolley, your sMart Coin will be returned to your account
You will be sent a message as a reminder to return and lock the trolley. If you have already left the store, you will lose your deposit.
Go to ‘My Account’ and select “Help & Contact” select dispute. Fill in the form and submit.
Yes, you will need to create an account to use the sMart Shop App.
The sMart Shop App collects your name, email address and store location in which you use the app to unlock a trolley.
Tap ‘ADD ITEM +’. Then tap the text box and enter the item. Repeat the process for each item.
Swipe left to delete and item. Tap ‘ADD ITEM +’. Then tap the text box and enter the item. Repeat the process for each item.
Tap the check box to strike out an item on your shopping list. Swipe left to delete.
Tap the check box.
Tap on ‘Set up reminder’. Select the date and time you plan on leaving home to go shopping and tap ‘Add reminder’. Your phone will alert you on the day and time you selected.
