How does the sMart Lock System™ work?
The sMart Lock System™ is a coin-less battery operated system that works in much
the same way as a conventional coin operated lock system but without the need for a conventional coin or token. A user downloads the sMart Shop App™, registers their
details and purchases a (one off*) sMart Coin™ to be used for deposit to unlock a Find Out More trolley. (One off* only if the user returns the trolley and locks it with another smart lock system). The user then either scans the QR code or taps the NFC window to
unlock a trolley and pays a deposit with the sMart Coin™. The trolley is unlocked electronically once a signal is received from a registered account. Upon returning and

Do I need to buy or purchase a sMart Coin™ each time I unlock a trolley?
No. You only need to purchase a sMart Coin™ once, providing you return and lock the trolley. For a more detailed and confidential discussion please contact us.
What happens to my sMart Coin™ if I or a customer do not return the trolley?
The same as what would happen not returning a trolley with a convention coin inserted in the lock system, you would forfeit the coin, in this case you will forfeit your sMart Coin™ and will need to purchase another. For a more detailed and confidential discussion please contact us.
How do I know If I got my deposit back?
You will receive a pop up message on the App notifying you the trolley was successfully locked and your sMart Coin™ deposit has been returned to you account. For a more detailed and confidential discussion please contact us.
What do I do if I don’t get my deposit back after I return the trolley?
Simply raise a dispute from your account via the app and we will investigate. In the
mean time simply purchase another sMart Coin. Upon investigation if there has been
an error you will receive a full refund and or credit within 30 days. For a more detailed

How do store staff, employees, team members or trolley collectors or contractors unlock trolleys?
All eligible store staff, employees, team members or trolley collectors or contractors will have a “service mode” functionality enabled on their App, which allows them to unlock trolleys. For a more detailed and confidential discussion please contact us.
What happens if the battery is low?
The system is designed to detect low battery and will send a low battery alert. Battery replacement is usually completed within 48 hours. For a more detailed and confidential discussion please contact us.
What happens if the battery goes flat or the battery expires?
The system is designed to unlock at power fail, flat battery or expired battery and will send and urgent alert for battery replacement, an urgent alert requires batteries to be replaced within 24 hours. For a more detailed and confidential discussion please

How does the GPS tracking work?
GPS sweeps are conducted throughout the trading day, sending notification messages via the service App, alerting team members and trolley contractors to the quantity of trolleys and map location in real time. For a more detailed and confidential discussion

How do team members, trolley collectors or contractors pick up trolleys?
Each team member, trolley collector or contractor will have within the sMart Shop App a “service mode” and “collection mode” functionality, where they will be able to unlock trolleys and scan them off the location service list. For a more detailed and

What is family sharing and how does it work?
Family sharing is used for members of the family to share one account. A consumer simply selects family sharing when registering on the sMart Shop App™, enter the
appropriate details for each family member accompanied by their phone number, purchases a sMart Coin™ for each family member and they will receive a text message

What is pensioner assist program?
The pensioner assist program is designed to assist pensioners who have a smart phone, create an account and use the sMart Shop App™. This is done over the phone on a toll free number. For a more detailed and confidential discussion please contact

What happens if a sMart Lock System™ is broken or becomes unresponsive?
If the system detects any electrical fault or damage, it will adopt the “unlock at power fail mode.” In this mode the lock system can not be engaged but the trolley can still be
used as normal. An unresponsive alert will be sent. All urgent alerts will be attended to within 24 hours. For a more detailed and confidential discussion please contact us.
What if a sMart Lock System™ is damaged or vandalised?
Simply scan the QR code or tap the NFC window from your sMart Shop Service App
and report the damage. You will receive notification your report has been received. A technician will attended in 48 hours. Quarantine the trolley to a safe area away from

What happens if a customer does not have a smart Phone?
A team member can unlock a trolley using the sMart Shop App “service - unlock

Does the sMart Shop App™ work on all phone types and operating systems?

What if a customer has concerns downloading the App and registering?
We have a highly secure and easy process of registration. We offer family sharing and

What security and privacy policies do you have in place.

What if a customer has a concern with a deposit or refund?

How does your system provide loss prevention?
By having users register their details on the sMart Shop App™, including a valid email address, phone number and credit card details acts as a deterrent to any would be

What happens if one of my stores or sites does not have mobile phone coverage?
All store and sites will undergo a pre installation checklist. if it is identified that there
is no mobile phone coverage, we will recommend not to proceed with installation. We
will also work with your business and major telecommunications companies towards a

What do you mean by the most valuable user information about your customers relationship with your store?
We are able to provide your business with detailed data on how many trolleys are
being unlocked a day and week in each store, bi hourly break down of trolley usage and unlock times by store, customer frequency shop, customers time in store (time
